Taking time to see what is around you....

Let me start this by saying that I do believe in God and I do believe we can feel His presence. While my methods of worship may differ from most of the free world, my ideals are pretty much the same. That being said, let me let you know a little about me and my perception. I can feel God. Yes you read that right. I can feel Him. When I go to church, when I stop to reflect, when I hear His name mentioned in a song, and even now as I sit and write this blog. I have tried to explain this to people but, sadly even the ones willing to listen do not comprehend what I am trying to describe. Let me see if I can explain it to you.

Today I was driving home from work. The new song by Billy Ray Cyrus came on. The song is titled, "Somebody Said a Prayer." As I listened and sang along the feeling came to me. I can only describe it as the most relaxing, most loving, most rewarding feeling anyone could ever possibly imagine. It is like a warm water being poured over my head. The warmth works its way down my entire body. Touching every fiber of my being, both inside and out. It is a feeling that tells me He is here and He will grant me peace and will watch over me. That through Him all things are possible and greater things lie ahead.

I wanted to share this feeling with my very best friend in life. (You know who you are kiddo). So I sent a text message to her and asked if she had heard the song. She said she had. I relayed the feeling I had and that I knew by that feeling that God loves us. Her reply came in the form of a question. "Why doesn't it always seem that way?"

Well my friend. It is always evident if you take the time to stop and see it. God's love comes to us through everything and everyone. The simple fact that I love you is one sign. My love is not entirely my own. It is through me that He shares His love with you. And it is not just me, but also through your children, your brother and sister, your boyfriend, your dad, and even through your mom, despite the fact that she is no longer among us in this world. Take a moment and think about those around you that tell you they love you every day and even those that may only say it from time to time, but mean it all the same.

I stop when life beats me up and think about those in my life. Including you. I know that our friendship is strong and that you love me like you do all your friends. I know that God has put you into my life fore a reason. To help me through the hard times and to share in my good times. I don't even need to talk to you. I can simply stop and think of you and the love God sends through you and it is enough to get me by.

So my prayer tonight will be that you find the ability to stop and look around. Find in others the peace and hope that you feel you have lost within yourself. May God watch over you and see you through all that troubles you. And may you never forget WE love you...........tm
